PUBLIC SAFETY

Our police, firefighters and other first responders put their lives on the line every day to keep us safe. They deserve our full support.

As a city, we must continue investing in their training and providing the most up-to-date equipment and infrastructure so they can do their job safely and effectively.

The overall crime rate in Boise is 20% lower than the national average. Over the past decade, nearly every type of major crime has decreased and Boise is consistently identified as one of the safest cities in America.

I will continue working closely with our police department to assure they have the tools they need to keep our citizens safe.

TJ THOMSON ON THE ISSUES

Jobs and the local economy

Thanks to a boom in economic growth over the last decade, Boise has become a premier place to do business.

null

Housing

Boise is growing, which is great news for the job market. Yet, increased growth places a greater importance on city services and can place a strain on affordable housing options for area residents.

null

Transportation

Increasing traffic is a challenging issue that comes along with Boise’s growth. Simply building more and wider roads to accommodate growth is expensive and not a feasible long-term solution to our transportation challenges.

null

Livability

We all know Boise is a great place to live. Our abundant recreational opportunities, great parks and open spaces, plus all the amenities of a mid-size city to attract positive economic growth.
